Call for Papers

Scholars from any discipline, tenured or non-tenured faculty, or those otherwise affiliated with a recognized research institution, may submit proposals to present at the Nineteenth Annual ASMEA Conference. Unique proposals from senior graduate students (ABD) also are welcome. Proposals on topics related to the Middle East and Africa should consist of a one-page summary of new and unpublished research. A recent C.V. with all contact data also must be included with name, e-mail, phone number, and affiliation.

Proposals will only be accepted through the online submission portal. Membership is not required to submit a proposal but an account is required. You can create a free account here. If a proposal is accepted for presentation, all presenters are required to become members of ASMEA and present in-person at the Nineteenth Annual ASMEA Conference in Washington, D.C. on November 7 - 9, 2026.

The deadline to submit a paper proposal is May 15, 2026.
