Research Grants Program
To stimulate new and diverse lines of discourse about the Middle East and Africa, ASMEA’s Research Grants Program seeks to support research on topics that deserve greater attention. The topic areas and sub-topics listed are intended as a guide for participants and constitutes the types of subjects that ASMEA intends to support in this program. Applicants submitted paper proposals on any topic as long as it is relevant to the topic areas outlined and is new and original research.
Moroccan Studies Research Grants
ASMEA and the Moroccan-American Cultural Center (MACC) offered research grants for scholars and students whose research focused on the Moroccan Culture, History, Religion, and Society. Grants of up to $2500 were awarded to qualified applicants.
Conference Travel Grants
The ASMEA Travel Grant Program is for interested Ph.D. students, post-Docs, and junior faculty studying any facet of the Middle East and Africa region. Funds provided through this program may be used to cover expenses associated with attending the ASMEA Annual Conference.
The deadline for grant submission was March 30, 2015; ASMEA is no longer accepting applications.
Each year at the annual conference ASMEA selects winners for best paper prizes in the categories of Middle East, Africa, and Student.
